Congratulations Trevor!

Mycodelic Forest has been mapped into Black Rock City as a theme camp at Burning Man 2025: Tomorrow Today. We’re excited to offer you a space to call home and make your magic happen!

Please read this email entirely as it contains important information to continue on with the Placement Process. This information is intended to help with your planning and not to by-pass the on-playa check in process. Reminder: You must check-in with your Placer to confirm your location and boundaries before setting up your camp even if this information gives you a better idea of where you are.

  • Approximate Location/Address: 3:00 & Ellison
  • Approximate Frontage Length: ~ 100 feet. This is the interactive side of your camp and you should consider it your front yard that faces the street.
  • Approximate Depth Length: ~ 150 feet. This is how far back into the block you go.
    • Please note: All dimensions are approximate and may be off by a few feet when you arrive on playa. If your dimensions contain a + or – sign, it means your camp is not rectangular and will be an odd shape. Odd-shaped camps will receive an outline of your shape in a separate email in the coming week.
  • Which side of the street does your camp face
    • Corner – facing man & 6:00. This is how you’re oriented when you stand inside your camp looking out of your frontage.
  • HUBS: If your theme camp applied to be in HUBS (Humans Uniting for Better Sustainability), was your hub approved? Yes. If you did not apply to be in HUBS, please ignore.

How to Read Your AddressYour address: If the first street of your address is a number, your frontage is on a radial avenue. If your first street is a letter, your frontage is on an annular street. The second street is your approximate cross street.

  • If you are on a Plaza, your address will contain the @ sign. Imagine the plaza itself as a clock with 12:00 towards the Man and your camp’s time in relation to that.

Side of the street: To help you better predict and plan your camp, we are providing which corner or which side of the street your camp faces.

  • For mid-block camps, the options are man-facing or mountain-facing. Imagine yourself standing at your camp looking out its frontage and facing the street. Man-facing is if your camp is looking towards the man when looking out. Mountain-facing is if your camp is looking away from the man and towards a mountain range.
  • If on a radial avenue or corner, we’ve also let you know which side you’re facing (either facing 2:00, 6:00, or 10:00). Since the city is curved, you should think of the direction following the curve rather than a straight line.

How to Find Your Location on Playa

A camper from your camp must meet with your Placer before setting up on playa, even if you think you know your camp’s boundaries or your camp’s container seems in the right spot. Do not bypass this process or your camp may be considered in Not Good Standing for future placement if no one from your camp meets their Placer to be placed.

The first arriving group from your camp must follow these steps and must be placed by the Placement team. Be sure that they read and understand these instructions.

  1. Inform Greeters or Gate you are with a placed camp.
  2. Have them radio the Placement team and ask for your Placers KGB, Skidoo, Compass, & Madness.
  3. Proceed to a meeting point as directed.
  4. Wait patiently for your Placer at the location you were directed to. Sometimes it takes 15 minutes, and sometimes it takes a couple hours. Know that we’ll get that as quickly as possible.
  5. Once the first arriver(s) meets with your Placer and confirms your camp’s boundaries, you may begin setting up and building.

To claim your reserved placement, at least one person from your camp must arrive at Greeters in Black Rock City before Saturday, August 23 at 10:30pm PT to claim your reserved camping space. Once the Gate opens on Sunday at 12:01am, we are no longer able to hold your camp’s space. If your first arrivers have an unexpected challenge arriving by 10:30pm (Gate Road traffic does not count – plan for traffic), please email us to let us know the situation.

Coming Soon

  • [Next Week] Setup Access Passes: Information about your theme camp’s SAPs will include the number of SAPs your camp has been allocated by date and how you to distribute them to your campers. As the Camp Lead, you will manage distributing SAPs through a system called the Allocator. It is the same system as in recent years and can be accessed through your Burner Profile. Please make sure that everyone who will receive a SAP has signed up for a Burner Profile: https://profiles.burningman.org/
  • [Next Week] Additional Tickets and Vehicle Passes: If you’re a new theme camp we’ve offered tickets/vehicle passes to earlier in the year or a returning theme camp that requested additional tickets through our “Almost Home Form,” we provide confirmed ticket/vehicle pass allocations and instructions about next steps. If you still think you need additional tickets/vehicle passes beyond this point – please email us at [email protected] with you camp name and “Ticket Request” in the subject line.
  • [Mid-July] Neighbor Info: We will share contact information for neighboring camps who share borders with you – along your sides and back. While we will not provide specific physical orientation to one another, we hope this information helps with your event planning and resource sharing.

Updates, Changes, and Cancellations

Please email us if there are any changes that may affect your camp size so we can try to accommodate. If you are no longer able to attend the Burn this year, please email us and let us know so we can plan accordingly. There may be a camp ready and willing to take your spot, especially if it’s in a prominent location.

Emailing Us

Our email address is [email protected] and remember to always put your camp name and sector [3:00] in the subject line.
